Letter from our Founder, Becca
Importance of connection
If you had asked me years ago whether I would ever open a hearing clinic of my own, I would have confidently said, "Absolutely not!" In fact, when I first met my husband, I distinctly remember telling him, "I would never own my own clinic." Funny how life has a way of changing our plans.
Perhaps I shouldn't have been so surprised. Entrepreneurship seems to run in my family. My great-grandmother owned a pub in London, England while raising six children after being widowed at a young age, and my grandmother once told me that I remind her of her mother. I've always considered that one of the greatest compliments, even though it took me some time to recognize those same qualities in myself.
I've also always enjoyed setting goals and working hard to achieve them. Growing up, I spent countless hours training in competitive gymnastics, which later led me to competitive cheerleading and opportunities to represent Team Canada. Looking back, those experiences taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork, and the confidence to take on challenges that once seemed impossible—qualities that continue to shape both my personal and professional life today.
Over the years, I discovered that hearing healthcare is about so much more than hearing tests and hearing aids. It's about helping people reconnect with the conversations, relationships, and moments that matter most. I began to envision a different kind of clinic—one where people feel genuinely welcomed, never rushed, and truly cared for.
As a proud mom of two, I know how quickly life moves. Outside the clinic, I enjoy spending summers at the cottage, cycling, and making memories with family and friends. Those experiences have reinforced for me the importance of connection, which is ultimately what hearing healthcare is all about.
Opening Cedar Ridge Hearing has been one of the most exciting and rewarding chapters of my life. It has given me the opportunity to create a clinic that reflects my values, my vision, and the type of experience I would want for my own family. My hope is that every person who walks through our doors feels heard, supported, and confident that they have found a trusted partner in their hearing journey.
I look forward to welcoming you to Cedar Ridge Hearing and helping you reconnect with the sounds, conversations, and moments that matter most.
